I've been trying all evening to upload a saved route and Flitesoft locks up every time I try. Would it have anything to do with the fact that I have 75 airports listed in that route? Since I can't get it to open, I can't get the list of all the waypoints I had listed on the route. I was hoping to export that particular route to my Garmin 296 eventually. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Post the file or email it to me and I'll try loading it.
Are you sure it's locking up? Sometimes FS seems to be locked but if you let it sit long enough it comes back to life.

my email is my first initial and last name (no c in there) at cyberoptics.com

Thanks Lance! :) I just emailed it to you.

I was able to load it without problems but it did take almost 30 seconds to finish loading and I'm running on a fairly fast computer. I think that the profile view requires the most time, I suggest you close that window before attempting to load the route and see if it works for you. I would also make sure that no other applications are running when you start FS as you may simply be running out of memory.

If that doesn't help describe to me what you see after selecting that route to load.

Also, how much memory does your computer have? You might want to check the physical memory numbers in the "Performance" tab of Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete)

Hey! That worked! Yay! You're good! Thank you Lance!

After I loaded the route, and it was working fine, then I tried to open the profile view just to experiment with it....I don't really need that part. It locked up when I added the profile.

This is what it indicated:
Total.......................458224
Available..................160276
System cache...........219460

I have no idea what that means. :dunno: Is that good?

YAVW.

I suspect it might just be taking a real long time to complete the profile with so many legs. On my computer it took about 20 times as long to open with the profile than without.

That looks OK to me. Was that with the grassroute flight plan open?

Lance, I have another Flitesoft question for you. Do you know how to get the list of airports copied from the flight log to another program, like Word or Excel? I have 98 stops listed so far.

Probably the simplest approach would be to open the "Waypoints" window (in the "Output" Menu), select the whole thing and then copy and paste it into an editor.

The route file itself is part text and part binary which makes it difficult to extract the airport names from there without a custom program or script.

I attached an example of this output.

I didn't realize the "Waypoints" page could be copied. Thanks Lance!
