Flight simulator simulator

I'm asking for a friend of a friend.

If they install a flight simulator in their plane... do they simulate the exact flight they're flying?

What if theres an emergency in real life? Do you ignore it and try it out in the simulator until you get a successful outcome? Can you get ADSB In into your simulator? Do you declare a real emergency if you get a simulated emergency?

So many questions.

I realize you're probably joking but there are airplanes that are used to simulate the flight characteristics of other airplanes in flight. Calspan has (had?) a couple of 'variable stability' Lear 24s, the F-16 VISTA, TIFS, ASTRA Hawk, etc.

If he crashes his real plane and the simulator is running, will he respawn in a new one?
