I got my PPL on October 31'st this year, Just 30 days after my 17th birthday. It was a huge accomplishment for me, being the only pilot in my huge family, and passing my check ride on the first try was awesome...

I attend Jackson High school, a large school with over 3700 students, of those 3700 only three pilots (All with the same CFI ! ) I saw a pretty low ratio, so I deduced with the help of friends and my awesome MacBook Pro I could create a documentary. This documentary's goal is to introduce aviation to kids my age (17) and to inspire them to get into a plane and possibly save general aviation (Dream big right... )

Below what your going to see is the Short, action filled teaser trailer. This was filmed on a couple of basic cameras and edited on my MacBook. To really help out my chances of getting this documentary kicked up a notch I just ordered (Like literally 10 mins ago from amazon:roll eyes:) Some HD helmet cameras and suction cup mounts. This should really spice up some of the shots to come!

Anyways you probably want to see what I've been going on and on about so here it is...

Good on you for following your dream! The trailer looks great and I hope you get the Doc done as I'd love to see it. Aviation needs young enthusiastic people who know how to spread the word. Let us know when you have completed the film. And welcome to Pilots of America!

first, congratulations on your PPL.

Obviously you have many talents, aviation, video/cinematography, etc. It's great you can combine your interests and have produced this project. I'll follow! Nice Job

Congrats on the private ticket.:)
That trailer is pretty darn good....:yesnod::yesnod::yesnod:.

Are you sure you are only 17 .:dunno::dunno:.

Ps. I can't wait for the full length film....

Ben.

Great job on both the PPL and the video beginnings.

The only pilot that I knew of in my High School class of 1967 went on to be a fighter pilot and then on to being a four star general running the air force. Learning to fly at a young age, can indeed take you places.

Congrats on the PPL! And that trailer was awesome. Good start. Let us know when you have the next bits completed for us to see.

Congrats on the PP and the movie looks good

WAIT, the credits list Evan Spencer and Evan Thrams.... Are there 2 Evans?

Is there going to be more?

Hopefully much much more...

One question for everyone.

Would you like to see more edited trailers, or just some plain old footage? We are still very early in doing filming, and with both of us being honor's students in high school our free time is not exactly bountiful. That being said we are progressing slowly!

Thanks for the awesome comments everybody!

We're easy - we'll take what we can get.

By the way: who ever heard of a 17-year-old getting a pilot's certificate? I mean, REALLY! :D

Congrats on the PPL. It sounds like you've taken on a lot and mastered the challenge. I only wish I could have got mine at 17, instead I had to earn the funds first.

That teaser on the video looks amazing and I can't wait until I can see more...and the finished product. Keep up the great work and give us more teasers to keep us baited.

I am sure if you are looking for any ideas, there are all kinds of us that can offer up pointers if needed.

And welcome to POA!!!

First off nice video, good intro. My guess based on the credits and the extra space between Evan and Spencer that it is starring both of them (Evan and Spencer) and the pilot is Evan Thrams......

Yes, when I looked at ig again that's what I figured, doh, head slap

Oops.... Looks like I forgot a comma :mad2:

P Factor Films. I love it. It'll go right over the heads of non-pilots, but it's spot on for what you're doing. I'm looking forward to more.

Um, I think we have two or more teenager pilots on here and in addition I attended an EAA meeting last night where a teenager pilot gave a presentation on his cross country from Florida to California when he was 16 and they were doing a ferry back with his CFI, the flight school had just purchased a brand new Cessna Sky Catcher and he got to fly the whole time. And he didn't even have a cert yet!

I love the trailer but I was wondering if the documentary will be available in 3-D or IMAX?

Thanks for the Kind words, But we are shooting this with basic equipment only...will 1080p be good enough? :goofy:

Are you going to be using a GoPro or Nflight?

Cant afford either...

Right now we are shooting wide angle shots with a Contour HD, and other shots with a Kodak ZI8. Also We have a few point and shoot cameras laying around that we have been using to shoot various stuff.
