First time app not transmitted in MedXpress yet. Should've had HIMS AME the whole time. Senior AME I worked with is retired now.

I'll do my best to keep this concise, cos it's a bit of a doozy I think:

- First time medical certificate applicant.
- Goal is 1st class medical.
- Submitted my completed MedXpress application with confirmation code.
- Attended appointment one month ago.
- Senior AME said I would be deferred and wished me luck.
- Senior AME uploaded my docs to AMCS.
- Status of app is Uploaded, and has been that way for more than a month.
- Realized I forgot to add a few things to the app and would like to add them but unsure if this is even possible now.
- The Senior AME retired from their medical career the day after I had the exam.

Since my exam, I learned I was in over my head and almost completely in the dark about how this whole process works. I knew I was going to be deferred per research pior to the appointment, but what I didn't know was I should've gone to a HIMS AME specialist and did everything in the absolutely least advisable order. Totally ignorant of truly needing consultation beforehand. Now I know there's no time to collect the reams of paperwork and nor to take the evals and supplemental exams to demonstrate my fitness as a pilot.

The app has been sitting on MedXpress for a little more than a month, currently parked at the Uploaded status. I would think the Senior AME I saw is still phasing out their practice and continue to at least administratively serve their patients, but maybe I know nothing about what happens to a doctor's practice when they retire.

Since my records are Uploaded, I would assume they won't get expunged 60 days later....

Q: Do I simply ask a new (HIMS) AME with the time to take over my case?
Q: Or... must I call up the retired Senior AME and have it reassigned with their sign off?
Q: Is reassignment possible at this intermediate stage? Is that weird to ask?
Q: Is that 60-day clock ticking wherein someone needs to interact with my app before it's retained in its current state forever?

I'm aware that at least a handful of HIMS AMEs are regular posters here, so any insight would be very much appreciated. The advice I've received from the not-doctors thus far has been to find someone new, lay it all out for them, and ask what they think. I've already asked one HIMS AME and they did a great job of clearing things up and explaining the uphill battle I'll have, but they don't have the time to take me on. I want to be respectful of their time, thus I'm posting here. If they happen to chime in here, thanks again in advance.

Maybe he'll have time to take you on. If not, maybe you can buy a couple of hours of his time for a record review and get you moving in the right direction.
