If you had purchased $1000.00 of Delta Airlines stock a year ago you would have $49.00 today.
If you had purchased $1000.00 of AIG stock a year ago you would have $33.00 today.
If you had purchased $1000.00 of Lehman Brothers stock a year ago you would have $0.00 today.

But, if you had purchased $1000.00 worth of BEER one year ago today, drank all the beer then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling you would have received $214.00 in return. Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily and recycle. This is called the 401 Keg plan.

A recent study found the average American walks about 900 miles every year. Another study notes that Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol per year. That means that, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon!.

Kind of makes you proud to be an AMERICAN don't it???

Putting the whole credit crisis in perspective-

This may put the whole credit crisis in perspective:

If you had purchased $1,000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left. With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left. With Fannie or Freddie, you would have less than $5 left. But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

That is the best statistic EVER!

This is, by far, the best economic news I have heard in a long time!!!!!!:cheerswine:

I have written this before but it is wroth repeating. When the tech bubble was bursting I moved a lot of my stock out of the tech sector and bought a whole bunch of Anheuser Bush stock.

The thinking was simple.

People were about to lose jobs and money. They would want to drink but would be buying cheap beer.

I made a killing!!

I wonder why they're not talking about this in the debate right now? Seems like it would really lift people's spirits (so to speak) to know that drinking is fiscally responsible!
