Feeling old?

I liked the walk(ers) across Abbey Road...

Inside every older person there's a younger person wondering what the h*** happened. :D

Feeling old? I hear that Keith Richards MOTHER died yesterday....

Feeling old? I got a call yesterday from one of the first folks that I met in class when I went to college, *cough*ty *cough* years ago. Her daughter is in college now.

I tuned in Steve Dahl. His show is now followed by MattDahl. That's how Steve says his name every time, "MattDahl." On that show the jock, MattDahl, sounds just like Steve Dahl. MattDahl and his young partner talked for hours about binge drinking and projectile vomiting and how good that feels... I remembered that I knew not only when MattDahl was unexpectedly born, but before that.

Yeah, I feel old.

Hell, MY daughter is in college now. The other one will be there soon.

I still don't FEEL old - yet.

took my wife to the doctor yesterday for neurological followup. The resident says they had their first child last month... we announced our first grandchild last month.

With a nod to Jeff Foxworthy "When your doctors are as young as your kids ... you might be an old fart."

A girl that sits next to me in class was excited to tell everyone that she was getting married. I never seen someone my own age get engaged before. I guess I growing up.

/Sorry if this is an insult to all the really old folks here.

Children - John, Holly, Heather, David
Grandchildren - Damon, Lauren, Caity, Tyler, Joshua, Lance, Elizabeth, Emily
Great-grandchildren - 2 (I forget their names)

I'll be 20 in July. Ugh..
I know where I was when Kennedy was shot.

I watched the first moon landing live.

My first phone was a party line.

I remember when the neighbors got a COLOR television and PUSHBUTTON phone and AIR CONDITIONING. They were the envy of the neighborhood.

When I was 20 Jimmy Carter was president.

Sigh.

My recently passed mother, who was one week short of being 79 when she died last month, met a Civil War veteran when she was in her 20's (1948). That is US Civil War veteran. Long ago really is not all that long ago.

Ken, that means you too were alive while there were still living US Civil War veterans, the last one died in 1958

Your not helping me to feel younger Scott! Albert Einstein died 5 months after I was born. Eisenhower was prez. I have vivid memories of the Cuban Missle Crisis. :(

Check. I got to see the funeral procession, in person (stood on the Memorial Bridge).

I watched the first moon landing live.

Check

And I remember when the 737 was introduced.

My first phone was a party line.

We had a private line, but my grandparents had a party line until I was a teenager.

I remember when the neighbors got a COLOR television and PUSHBUTTON phone and AIR CONDITIONING. They were the envy of the neighborhood.

My father bought a Color TV when the Redskins went to their first Superbowl. I remember when they finally got a pushbutton phone and airconditioning (the first one was a single, large, window unit that they tried to use to cool the whole house).

When I was 20 Jimmy Carter was president.

Close enough. I was headed off to college.

We have become... our parents.

I know where I was when Kennedy was shot.
I was on my lunch break at work.

I watched the first moon landing live.
I saw sputnik
My first phone was a party line.
Ours was a private line, but we waited four months for it to be installed.
I remember when the neighbors got a COLOR television and PUSHBUTTON phone and AIR CONDITIONING. They were the envy of the neighborhood.
The neighbors got a TV and invited us to watch Queen Elizabeth's coronation. Later Dad built us one from spare parts.
When I was 20 Jimmy Carter was president.

Sigh.
Kennedy

I look like my grandmother.

Kids.

Truman was President when I was born.

I know where I was when Kennedy was shot.

I watched the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo flights. I remember watching live when Armstrong first set foot on the moon.

I was working for the Navy (as a civilian) when the peanut farmer was elected President.

My 'kids' are 30 and (almost) 27. No grandkids, yet (but we're hoping).

But, feeling old? No. I still feel like I'm in my 20s. I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up. :D

Man...

Carter was President when I was born

I remember where I was when the Challenger blew up, the Berlin Wall fell, Tienamen was crushed and the USSR fell.

I just got married last year

And my "kids" are 2.5, 2, and 1 (three cats)

I'm still older than Jesse, though ;)

Cheers,

-Andrew

My first phone was a party line.
My current phone was a party line... or so they told me when I called the phone company to activate it. Party line? What up with that? This was in 1992. Never have heard anyone else on the line in all these years so I guess they were wrong. :dunno:

I know where I was when Kennedy was shot..
I was 150 miles out of bounds on a weekend pass, I got back to Andrews AFB as fast as I could. and stood gutter guard for the funeral parade across from the Treasury building.

I watched the first moon landing live..
I was flying from Barbers Point, Hi to Pt, Mugu. Ca. in the R7 but watched it on the repeat news when I home.

My first phone was a party line..

My first phone was a hand cranked oak box on the wall that you cranked and waited until mable came on, and you asked her to connect you to Ryan's house.

I remember when the neighbors got a COLOR television and PUSHBUTTON phone and AIR CONDITIONING. They were the envy of the neighborhood..

We walked by the appliance store and watch the TV thru the window, round tube black and white. But of course we could not hear the sound. It was a day to celebrate when REA got electricty in our house.

When I was 20 Jimmy Carter was president..

I was born during the Roosevelt Adminstration, but turned 20 in trade school before joining the NAVY to avoid the draft.

I know where I was when Kennedy was shot.
3rd grade Greenwood Elementary School.

My first phone was a party line.
Not here, thanks

I remember when the neighbors got a COLOR television and PUSHBUTTON phone and AIR CONDITIONING. They were the envy of the neighborhood.
Didn't get AC until I moved to NC in 1981. Remember the 1st color TV in our home - Sony in 1973. I was my fathers remote control. That TV is still working.

When I was 20 Jimmy Carter was president.

Sigh.
Two years younger than me at the time. :D

Wow I guess I can't really complain about being born in 78!

Although, 30 will be tough for me, just a mental thing I guess.

Carter was President when I was born

I'm probably not much older than you, but I'm up two presidents on you. I was born three weeks before Nixon resigned, plus two years of Ford.

I was born one day shy of 5 years after the moon landing.

I remember where I was when the Challenger blew up

Mrs. Backus' art class (6th grade)

, the Berlin Wall fell, Tienamen was crushed and the USSR fell.

Uhhh... High school. :D

I'm still older than Jesse, though ;)

Yep. And that's what counts. ;)

I know where I was when Kennedy was shot.
I was 11 months old, I was probably messing up a diaper

I watched the first moon landing live.
ditto, I was wearing my astronaut pjs and slippers. I was also probably sipping a glass of Tang and eating a space food stick as well

My first phone was a party line.
Nope, missed out on that, had a rotor dial though

I remember when the neighbors got a COLOR television and PUSHBUTTON phone and AIR CONDITIONING. They were the envy of the neighborhood.
Yes I remember when those things were coming on line. I did not get a push button phone until HS when I paid for my own. The color TV was something that we were late adopters on, I would go to my friends houses to watch their color TVs.

When I was 20 Jimmy Carter was president.
15

I hear ya!

Carter was President when I was born
Kennedy but just barely. I do remember watching Johnson on TV and I remember watching Truman's funeral

I remember where I was when the Challenger blew up, the Berlin Wall fell, Tienamen was crushed and the USSR fell.
When Challenger blew up I was watching on CCTV from NASA as we had an experiment package on board. Judy Resnick was our Astronaut liaison on an upcoming experiment for SDI tracking and pointing. When it happened I was the only one in the room that knew something bad had just happened as I had seen 7 launches in person.

I just got married last year
More than that for me but less than 15

And my "kids" are 2.5, 2, and 1 (three cats)
just the cats
I'm still older than Jesse, though ;)
