The world of the Internet changes so fast. I did not look at TaP for a couple of years and now I am annoyed how many "Call for Great Prices!" entries are there now for any given search. Is there a site where real owners sell real airplines?

Thanks for the suggestions. I think the first answer still wins, AOS and Barnstormers are the websites with the nicest content and user base. Barnstormers is also a such a quaint throw-back into the early days of dynamic websites, when we rolled our own from a few PHP scripts and MySQL back-end. How can you not love it.

TAP just rolled out a pretty good mobile website in the past few days. I agree that they seem to have the most ads where sellers refuse to list an asking price but they certainly haven't cornered the market. It's an interesting strategy...I wonder if for every person like me who moves on without ever seriously considering the ad there is someone who says to himself "Ooh! Ooh! There's no price therefore it must be a great deal!!!"

I usually moved on when I saw ads with no price. However, there was one I didn't, and I get a hell of a dela out of it. I figure if they aren't going to list a price, just low ball em.

Controller's navigation and organization (or lack thereof) bugs me. I much prefer ASO's interface.

When I sold my plane, we got 4x the number of inquiries from ASO than from Controller, for what that's worth.

Barnstormers...

I like it so much that I actually pay for advertising there.. and it works!

I don't think GPS searches Barnstormers. As I recall, the Duchess opted out.

Nope, GlobalPlaneSearch misses both TaP and Barnstormers. But if you look at TaP, Barnstormers, and GPS, you're pretty much covering all the bases.

My personal preference is controller.com, I think their format is the easiest to read. Not sure what the gripe is with organization, I don't find it difficult at all. :dunno:

I like controller and aso. Not really fond of Barnstormers.

I don't like the interface much, but it's a lot easier to find things like spare parts, and there are a lot more cool old airplanes for sale on Barnstormers than the other sites.

I've used most of them through the years. I much prefer Barnstormers. I've
bought planes off of there and I've sold them. You can't beat them in
bang for the buck when you're selling.

I think a lot depends on what you are looking for.

I looked at controller a few times and gave up on it since there were almost no listing for lower priced homebuilt LSAs. Barnstormers had pages of them.

I assume that the situation might be different if you were looking for a more upscale aircraft.
