Fact or Fiction?

I heard that RyanB, a 20-something, flew over 100 miles, round trip, in a plane without a GPS/Magenta line to follow, used a VOR, and did NOT declare an emergency!

I submit this is fact, but I realize the skeptical reception this will receive.

I hope he had that guy in the Cirrus fly in formation with him at least.

What’s a VOR?

Seriously, though, did he paint the CDI needle magenta?

I heard it kept moving, so he had to keep Turning the dial to center back on course.

I hope he did not have to cross tune to triangulate location enroute...so dangerous...

But how would he get his airspeed to zero once the Cirrus driver pulls the chute to land?

You also have to watch out that you’re in the lead position during the 10 mile straight in. Otherwise the chute blooms in front of you and you have to break off. :) :) :)
