I thought March was supposed to go out like a lamb, but April stayed a lion.
Same with May!

Data at: 2005 UTC 11 May 2022

It's not too bad to fly in, but it is really messing with a lot of my new landscaping.

And that's much less than we've been seeing the past week.

Up in the hills, hurricane force winds over 100 this past weekend.

Was just commenting on the crosswind thread about flying my light sport compliant tailwheel in less than fun conditions. With the price of gas it's difficult to make myself want to take a beating unless I need to fly ... ;)

That's all? We had that plus some on top of that almost the entire month of April.
We too have had much more than that for the past few months. What I posted was just what it is NOW.

We bought the house next door to us and demolished the building. We are removing all the invasive shrubs, bushes and trees and replacing them with native plant. But even though native plants can survive these conditions, they need to establish themselves first. This wind is making this difficult.

My old CFI just texted me a screenshot of the weather where I trained. Currently 27G37 there, and apparently that's been conditions for a couple of weeks. It was windy when I was training, but not quite that bad for so long!

RIL had 33g 55 last Sunday. We’ve had weeks of winds in the 20’s to high 30’s. It sucks, blows all night some times.

I never thought to use aviation weather for landscaping. :D

The wind is forecasted to be under 20 today. Now I can finally get on the roof to get the swamp cooler working.

With a low of 25 this morning I don't know why I need it. But I know the 90+ degree days will be here soon.

I'm used to dealing with wind in Wyoming/Western Colorado where I spend most of my time flying, but this year has been extra brutal. I'm sick of driving everywhere.
