Tonight, I took my daughter Allison out for a flight in 09L. She was very helpful tonight with holding the pitot cover, cowl plugs, etc as we preflighted the plane. Set her up on the right seat and gave her the Philadelphia VFR TAC chart as her map. We flew for about 40 minutes once we left Wings Field, mostly at 2500 feet around the local area.

She saw school buses in their parking lot, then some sail boats and two power boats on Lake Nockamixon,... we beat them! to the marina! Then out over Van Sant airport before turning home to Wings.

A nice stop for ice cream afterwards at Merry Mead farm to top it off! :D

Here's My Co-pilot.... notice the shirt from Airways at KLNS.

I saw you climbing out at a blistering 40 ft per minute this evening LOL:D

Yeah, those O-300 powered 172s aren't exactly overpowered. I've had to fly one a few times in the past few months (including in IMC). ATC asked me for best rate, I said "You're getting it."

Sounds like a great flight, Rob!

Rob,

Nice pictures, sounds like a fun flight and a great way to finish up with an ice cream stop.

Very Nice!!!

You have really taken to this flying stuff!! :D

Yea, it's a blast! An one of these Sunday's when all the star's and weather align with my wife's approval,... I'll see you guys and QPA for a breakfast run. Seems every time I get the approval, the weather doesn't work. When the weather works, we have something planned already at Church,.... Sometime soon though, I'll catch up with you guys.

APPROVAL!! - Whew... that must be an interesting conversation.

It may not be for a while - the runway rebuild (we got stimulated!) is scheduled to start within the next week or two. We did get permission to use the taxiway as a runway, but the proceedures are a bit complicated, the taxiway as runway leaves me a bit uncomfortable and the ramp is off-limits except for getting fuel. All things considered, I may just move to LOM for the duration, still trying to decide.

No more speed bumps on the runway! or rumple strips!,... wow, That will be nice once it is done. I recall when the taxiway was being done a few years ago, quite a project, but nice and smooth.
