ELT required for certified aircraft ?

I bought a new helicopter last year. During ordering process I chose not to have ELT installed. I fly over rough terrain and carry a PLB. I didn't think about this before but is the aircraft airworthy without ELT ? If it was required , then wouldn't it be part of non optional equipment on Robinson Helicopter ?

Helicopters are not required to have an ELT. 91.207(a) specifies airplane.

Yes a rotorcraft is airworthy under 91 without an ELT installed and in most 135 ops as well. Perhaps edit your title and post as aircraft is all inclusive and may get you answers that are not applicable to your question.
