I have never used any soldering wires.
I think it is in the solder?
The one roll I have here says rosin core on it.

why? rosin core has been the standard in electronic assembly for over 50 years

Are you looking for straight flux, or solder paste?
I like SRA 135 flux and Nokorode solder paste, but the Nokorode stuff I have is, ahem, vintage.
