i'm looking at an RV 7 airplane and i'm not at all familiar with dynon autopilots. my last plane had a stec 3100 autopilot and I got spoiled with altitude preselect. I think this autopilot only has altitude hold on the plane i'm looking at. is it possible to upgrade this autopilot to electric trim with altitude pre-select or do you have to an entire new autopilot to get those features?
thank you

Yours has altitude preselect, but only by a predetermined default vertical speed.

yes, my 3100 i could dial in a set altitude(say 5,000') then climb it at a IAS or VS that I picked and it would capture the altitude precisely. it was awsome. would this autopilot have that ability or can you add some additional features to make it do that?
thank you for your reply
Jim

There is no way to do beyond what I described. If you upgrade to the Dynon Skyview, you can do all of those things with the same servos you have installed now.
