One who misses Daytona!
I have AT&T uverse. I am changing to Comcast. I have a bunch of recordings on the dvr that I would like to save.

Any one tell me how to safe either to laptop or to a usb?

thank you

The content owners won't let anything go on a DVR unencrypted. When I was at Scientific Atlanta we actually developed a DVR that had a DVD-RW drive in it and we developed a way to archive content to a DVD with a menuing system. It never caught on with the cable companies.

The question is is it your DVR or theirs? With TIVO, I can save to the HD of my PC. I should be able to save it to the DVD drive on the PC as well. Problem is I can only dump it back onto TIVO to play it.
My Toshiba DVR has a HD and a DVD. I can save the show on the DVD and play it later. Some shows do not transfer but I've played them thru the tv and recorded them on other media.
You just have to get creative.
