Drug Cartels using drones to get dope over the border

Tunnels, submarines, fastboats, fast airplanes and Clint Eastwood. Not surprising at all to see drones being used for illegal activities.

The great wall of china worked. Ever see any illegal alien mexicans in China.??
 
Actually the Great Wall of China was a failure historically in terms of keeping invading forces out. And ask the Israelis how their new walls are doing which are way more sophisticated than what is being debated here in the US. Seems they are having just a few problems with tunnels. As did the Berlin Wall and just about every other wall ever erected. Funny how walls turn out.

The Berlin Wall worked very well, no one wanted to cross to the east and you got shot trying to go over it to the west.
 
I'm honestly surprised there isn't a lot more drone based crime going on. Seems like an ideal platform, all sorts of nefarious things you could do relatively risk-free with them.

North Carolina DOT:
USE OF AN UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM NEAR A CONFINEMENT OR CORRECTIONAL FACILITY PROHIBITED ((§ 15A -300.3)
It is illegal to operate a UAS in North Carolina near a prison. This includes local confinement facilities, and state and federal correctional facilities. The restricted distance is 500 feet horizontally or 250 feet vertically from the prison. The horizontal distance extends outward from the furthest exterior building walls, perimeter fences, and permanent fixed perimeter, or from another boundary clearly marked with posted notices.

Per G.S. 15A
-300.3, it is a felony to deliver, or attempt to deliver, a weapon or contraband using a UAS into a prison. It is a misdemeanor for all other violations under this law.

Happened at a prison near by, they would fly it over the yard and drop care packages
 
Seems like the only way to catch something like that would be to follow the drone back to its home base which might not be easy without pouring a lot of time/resources in or just happening to get lucky.
 
They will never be able to stop the drug flow into this country,just too big a market.
