DOS vs. Windows

I still have my VAX manuals, orang binders and all. Worked for DIGITAL back in the late 80s, watched it disintegrate. Fortunately never bought stock. Compac bought it a few years after I left. I’ve worked for 7 companies that no longer exist, including 2 of the 7 Drawfs….if you know that term…….

That part which wasn't purchased by Intel.

Compaq bought my previous (to Intel) employer after I left for Intel, as well. Tandem Computers was the best outfit I ever worked for, but from what I hear Compaq ruined it. Oh well...
 
PLC ladder logic programming is dirt simple, even for a non-EE guy like me. I don't do that no more. I used to do simple ladder logic circuit control diagrams on plan sets, but these days we have a narrative on how it is supposed to function and the systems integrators program the PLC's to make that work.
 
Do microcontrollers count? If so a popular microcontroller is the ARM. It has a relative low Gates count, so is popular in FPGAs. They're amazingly versatile.
