So I've read that mutt-muffs are overrated and not that good. Anybody have any input and maybe a better alternative? Got a new puppy and want to take her on trips. I've had a deaf cat before so I know I don't want a deaf dog.

I found the MuttMuffs to be useless.

This would not work on my pup but a head band using the dog's own ear flaps would be an effective way to go:

Mutt muffs work great for my dog. The hardest part of dealing with them is avoiding her licking my face when I put them on her.

I have actually. I think they do fine. Definitely better than nothing. My last dog went deaf. This one's 9 years old and hears everything. Maybe it's genetics, coincidence, luck... I just keep using what works and the dog keeps wanting to go. What's funnier is in the thumbnail below my wife has a pair of ANR headsets sitting on her seat and she chooses the Peltor muffs. Says this way she doesn't have to talk!

Interesting. I put Buddy's on once and could hear my wife just fine as she talked softly across our 50' great room. They were sealed tightly...just didn't do much.

Buddy loved them though. He knew they meant he got to go on a "road trip!" He has over 250 hours in the 182.

The 4paws aviation version used real headset materials...like gel seals...not just cheap (and thin) foam like MuttMuffs do.

I have some nice Lightspeed PFX's for $850 :)
Your dog will love the bluetooth

HAHAHAHAHA I bet she would love them.

I ended up going with the 4 paws. They came into today and they look high quality. I started to put them on my pup like a collar so she gets used to them. This weekend Ill take her for a flight and see how she does. I also bought a pair of doggles for her but had fitting issues. I let Eric know and I have sent them back today for an exchange in size. Great people to work with!
