Tampa man keeps an ear to the sky to fight airport noise

Tampa International Airport has a serious problem. Complaints about noise from planes heading to the airport more than quadrupled last year, reaching a record 1,278 — an average of almost five per day. That's up from 256 complaints in 2006 and 179 in 2005. What happened? Has air traffic increased so drastically over the skies of Tampa Bay that it's disrupting homeowners like never before?

Or is it just Lenox Stevens?
Of 1,278 noise complaints last year, 1,060 — 83 percent — came from Stevens.
Dude, get a life!

Seems he should be complaining about the noise from the two year long roadway construction project around the airport.

In the years leading up to 2004 it was known of the more than 1,000 noise complaints received annually for KSBP, all came from 4 persons living in a gated subdivision. Three lived on the same street, 2 lived across the street from each other.

After that year the state decided it was a privacy issue to keep secret the identity of those complainants.

Here's the thing: a positive 'complaint' carries little to no weight. A negative complaint is heard loud and clear and must generate a response.
