Do airline pilots have to get a medical for every country they fly to?

I'm Just curious. I'm kinda young doing some flight training, my over all dream is to become an airline pilot.I also want to learn what airline pilots have to work through, and more about careers in aviation. This question just struck me and I'm really curious to know :)

Countries agree to respect each others aviation regulations. So no.

As stated above "No". But we do have to get individual visas for those countries requiring them. Also I recall having to get a second passport for when I was going to both Dubai and Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv would not accept a passport that had any stamps from an Arab country. I don't know if it's still that way or not.

Other way around. Dubai won't accept a Tel Aviv stamp. You don't need a second passport - Tel Aviv knows about this, and if you ask them they will stamp on a piece of paper and staple it to the passport. You can then remove it after you leave the country again.

We've had many people in my subsidiary fly into Tel Aviv with passport stamps from Saudi, UAE, Kuwait, Omar, Qatar, Bahrain. They've never had an issue getting into Israel with that - BUT we were always warned to get the Tel Aviv stamp on a separate piece of paper.

I thought Britain had their own alternative to medical certificates that's even more generous than BasicMed.

They do. I forget the name, but they use the standard driver's license medical, which apparently is mandatory for everyone who drives in the UK. Having the medical for commercial driving grants some additional flying privileges, but I forget what they are offhand. I think flying at night is one of them.

Ok, I couldn't remember who didn't like who I just remember I had two passports for awhile. Oddly enough if our routing took us from Israel thru Turkish airspace or any other Arab country our ATC strip was not forwarded. We had to check in like we had just come from a non-radar contact area and give an estimate as to our ETA to the FIR boundary.

I can't find the article on the ban so I pulled my statement out of this comment. I saw it a few weeks ago but need to review the details.

When I went to Russia ages ago, the visa was also stapled in. They remove it when you leave the country. I convinced the customs guy to stamp something in my passport to show I was there. For all I know it says "This End Up" in Russian.
