Ok, this morning was not a typical morning here in Havasu. I awoke at 6:30am to the sound of gunshots. At first I thought it was a backfire, but after hearing several more, and some yelling, I knew something was amiss. I went outside to see what was going on, and noticed two baby bunnies floating in my pool. Poor little guys didn't have a chance. (Wonder why Bunnies cant swim). Anyways...back to the story...So I go past the bunnies, and see a policeman in stance behind his car door with gun drawn on a house just a few down from mine. No other movement visible..about a minute later, cop cars come screaming around the corner, lights going vans, patrol cars, unmarked cars, and a helicopter even got involved. After several cups of coffee, I see a swat like team full gear, shotguns, leaving the house, must have been 10 of them inside. Wow..something big is going down here. I have not heard what happened as of yet, I guess I have to wait and see what the local fish wrap says tomorrow. I have drove by the house involved and noticed the boarded up windows and doors, saw 20 cars parked on the lawn..err weeds, and saw people coming and going at all times. So I knew something bad was going on there, Just glad the local authorities finally shut it down.
What a day...

Sounds like the cops bagged some druggies, or perhaps worse. Good on 'em. Hope they (the cops) are all ok!!

If the bunnies were fresh killed, you shoulda gone and snagged them up. Nothing like fresh bunny stew :)

Michael, I'm a little bit confused here.

Did somebody shoot the bunnies?

edit, in case you were serious...No bunnies are everywhere out here, and i guess they wanted some water, but they cant swim...they do float however pretty good.

Did the cops shoot the bunnies? Some sorta Easter Bunny crime syndicate goin' on down by you?

fyi: dont go out into the open when you hear gunfire. Peering out your window, your a spectator. Manuevering on your lawn, around your house, your a participant.:hairraise:

Were you not paying attention?? The bunnies were running a crack house and the swat team joined the party. Two drowned while hopping away from the scene.

Jeez. ;)

Rabbits can swim, they drown because they can't get out of your pool.

Untrue, I have a beach entrace to the pool. just inches away from where I found em. If they could swim to it, they couldve walked out.

You need a bunny ladder. Hey, I got an idea, throw some ice cubes in there and you could play "Titanic" the movie:goofy:

Keep in mind what KIND of bunnies these are. Out here in desert land, they're probably more 'hares' than the cottontails everyone is used to elsewhere.

I think what Brian is eluding to, is the peter cottontail bunny swims real good, as opposed to the desert hare.

Actually, I was referring to the fact that they would be meth users more than drug runners and unlikely to swim in that condition. I'm sure you've seen how thin they are?

Bunny Killer!!! Bunny Killer!!!

Nah - I'm willing to bet they were JackRabbits, right? That's all we have here, next door in New Mexico, and they're stupid enough to probably not be able to swim, or find a beach.

Didn't you hear, The East 125th st Bunnys took over the nationwide meth distribution from the Hells Angels.

Maybe they should've worn their pancakes. The one running around PofA seems to have no drowning issues.
