I’ll be in the DFW area from June 17th-21st. I usually spend most of my time around the I35W/I-30 corridor, but I’m flexible.

Lots of good choices in that region, including downtown.

But if you're willing to go a bit south toward Magnolia, there are some fantastic places there, including Heim BBQ.

I’ll be in the DFW airport area but can meet up anywhere.

I will try. I think we owe each other a beer somehow. I'd like to pick your brain about your Grumman.

Let me know what day works for you Guys. Looks like I’m done with class at 4:30 everyday

I'll be floating around (not literally) between Carrolton, Lewisville, Denton and Gainesville this weekend, Friday through Sunday...

Eghem.... Hard 8. o_O

I'll be bouncing around the FTW area (Benbrook, Aledo, Fossil Creek) during the week, but will be available any evening through Thursday (head back North Friday noontime). Company rental car and fuel, so no worries about distance for me.

True, but the best one is in Stephenville. Too far to drive for an evening meetup. The other local installations except for Coppell are too new as far as how well the pits and pit crews turn out product. So I don't include thos in local BBQ suggestions. Coppell winds up being too crowded and significantly insufficient parking.

Heim BBQ I mentioned turns out some good stuff.

There are likely some others in the FTW and South Dallas areas worth going to, but I don't know the names/locations.

Hard 8 in The Colony is the only one I've been to, never stopped at the Coppell site even though I go to Grapevine/Southlake fairly often to visit friends. Riscky's BBQ in FTW is meh, and Shady Oak in Fossil Creek is decent, but not outstanding.

I have eaten at all the Hard 8 locations as well as both the Salt Licks.

The Colony Hard 8 just doesn't seem to be as good as Coppell. Stephenville is an experience in itself, because of the golf cart ride from the airport across a busy highway...

Salt Lick is still my favorite. Not a Metroplex location, though...

I’m good Monday - Wednesday. Probably should stay in and study Thursday night.

I read fast and saw Salt Grass the first read.... I waslike W...T...F, over!

Unless their replacement is a recent thing, the carts were removed several years ago. Now, you can just call the restaurant and they will come get you.

This place could be an option, but you'd might not fit into that sim seat afterwards. Plus they are only open limited hours for lunch.

Let me see if I can do Wed. I know I can't do tonight.
I haven't gotten permission.

Wednesday works for me. Just let me know

man you guys are messed up. The best places to eat in the DFW area are in-n-out and taco cabana.

:D

I agree, El Fenix much better than Cabana.

I am cleared for Wednesday evening.
He's in Grapevine near DFW.
@AggieMike88 what about Esparza's? That's in that area and probably a lot more. It seems to be growing rapidly.

Or Roanoke has Twisted Root, Hard 8, and that street taco joint which is pretty tasty.
I am up for wherever.

I’d like to try the Hard8

Hard 8 in Coppell is the better choice of Coppell and Roanoke due to more seasoned pits and cooks. And it's not too far from Flight Safety. But it gets very crowded quickly, even on a Wednesday. So I suggest meeting at 6:00pm to avoid some of the rush. Especially since parking will fill up quickly.

If that is agreeable, then we will meet at the entrance denoted by the red X. Parking is best in the green area.
