Final Approach
The attached picture was taken yesterday. Thought I would post it because seeing two DC3/C47’s in D Day paint together is nots common sight these days.
The far one has an amazing documented history and is painted including nose art as it was on June 6th 1944. It belongs to the museum and I have been at the controls. It was bought by General Motors after the war and converted back to DC3 configuration which almost resulted in its war identity being lost, but the military data plate had been left in place. Amazing flying airplane.
The near one is a DC3 with the paint job and no war history. It is being annulled by a local DC3 guru so they were coincidentally together yesterday.
