Gearboxes out of a 140. Only got 70 years out of them...Is this a part off a Cessna 180?
Joke's on them, I bought when they were only $1691.I see Univair has new replacements for “only” $1775... betcha it’d be a wee bit higher from Cessna/Textron.

They found some cracks at my first annual and welded them. This year, a different shop recommended replacement. It took about 80 hours. You find a crack? If so how did you find it snd where?
Now that I have my own borescope I’ve looked around the gearbox but honestly don’t know anything besides look around for cracks.
So the part can be had for a couple AMUs but how many hours labor ya think? Just curious as I’m sure that a “when” not “if” part.
