Crankshaft failure in flight, lost propeller, no injuries

This happened once in Alaska but in a 207.

Reportedly, but unverified, the first thing the pilot said after the prop departed was, ''I will need some help unloading to make weight...''

Good job on the successful landing.

This happened in 2011 to a 172 at night between Atmautluak and Bethel as well. The pilot landed it on a frozen lake, someone found the prop on the tundra after the thaw. They sent it out for NDT, found that it was good as new, and stuck it back on the plane.

I've lost a propeller twice on a paramotor... but an engine out on a paramotor is generally a non event.

"No, all those cases of Gatorade were sitting right there when I landed on the frozen lake"
