Craig Ferguson became a pilot on Friday

The host of the Late Late Show proudly announced tonight that he became a pilot. He started lessons to overcome a fear of flight. According to his monologue, he is still afraid, but now he is afraid of the correct things about flight.

I thought he'd been a pilot for a long time? He was actually interviewed by Will Hawkins and Rico Sharqawi for the 'A Pilot's Story' film.

EDIT: I take that back... the FAA only has him listed as a Student Pilot, so his paperwork might not have gone through yet.

I think a lot of "celebrity types" who got their pilot's licenses in the past were reluctant to make that widely known due to the Hollywood stigma of GA flying as a "daredevil" activity. But it does seem that more and more such folks are telling the world when they join our ranks. I hope this continues as we could use an image boost.
