Does anyone know how things are at Greeneville, Tennessee Airport? I am interested in dropping off some disaster supplies on Saturday, October 5, at noon. I am wondering if anyone knows how things are going in this area that was hit by Helene.

I'm based close to Greeneville in Elizabethton TN. While I haven't been to Greenville recently, I don't believe it took a hit. I think it is ok. Call the fbo to check.

If for any reason it isn't an option, Elizabethton is open and operating normally except for some newer transients along with their fuel supply.IMG20240930161950.jpgIMG20240930161955.jpg

Editing to add I just realized you are asking about the area rather than the airport in particular. I know Erwin is not too far from Greeneville and they took a hard hit. The impact plastics plant beside i-26 had some employee deaths. A friend lost his house and pet in Erwin. I've heard that water and power is still out in some of the surrounding locations both in Erwin and outside Elizabethton.
