Class 3 with an old anxiety/depression diagnosis after talk therapy

Hi all. Going for a class 3 medical, but found some concerning stuff in my records. I did some talk therapy years ago (just a few sessions over a span of few months), and I see it’s been billed to my insurance with codes for generalized anxiety disorder and dysthymia/persistent depressive disorder. Again this was all years ago. I have no recollection of the therapist discussing this diagnosis with me. No meds prescribed, no other history otherwise. What’s my best course of action? Haven’t filled out any forms/talked to anyone yet.

Anxious...if there as been no "recurrency" and no meds in the past two years, provided the AME can verify that- he can issue. This ia a summer 2024 policy change! But you need to ask what documents the AME needs to verify such, it's HIS call.

Thanks! I’ll consult with an AME before applying. Yeah this was all more than 6 years ago and no meds ever. What gives me pause though is that dysthymia is specifically listed as “defer” here https://www.faa.gov/ame_guide/media/Anxiety_Depression_Disposition_Table.pdf which seems to conflict with https://www.faa.gov/ame_guide/app_process/exam_tech/item47/amd/table - am I reading these wrong?

Forgot to mention, I have an expired class 3 from before all of this. Sounds like BasicMed is another potentially simpler option.

If you qualify for BasicMed, it’s not potentially simpler, it is simpler. I’ll stay BasicMed until insurance or operations require I go back to a medical.
