Took me a bit . . . . Started out asking, "what's that whip for?" Then . . "oooohhh, got it!"
One of my sons has the initials PI. One year in baseball he got the number 3 on his jersey. I joked that we should add a ".14"Hooray for cheezy math humour!!
Bingo! That was exactly my though process when seeing it...when I "got it" I was absolutely howling...

The silence was deafening.
The elevators in the Umass Amherst math building went to the 17th floor. On the ground floor were lighted numerals showing where the elevator was. Between the numerals were the symbols e and pi. Funniest graffiti I ever saw. (OK, I lead a dull life)
Well, so long as there wasn't a floor labeled "i"
Generally speaking it's on a different axis. If I-XVII are horizontal i, IIi would be vertical.e was between 2 and 3, and pi was between 3 and 4. I don't remember where i goes. (The only man on the planet who knew, and I forgot)

God I can believe I took the bait. I'm going to slap myself
Well, I suppose they could list the Basement as i²
you do realize that ALT+0178 = ² don't ya?
i²
Why would anyone care. You can use the superscript brackets here in vBullitenyou do realize that ALT+0178 = ² don't ya?

Your solution only works for one case. Mine for works for more. I'll stick with mine.keystrokes for ALT+0178 = 4-1/2
keystrokes for bracket sup bracket two bracket slash sup bracket = 12
I'll use my way thanks.
PS, XKCD this morning references "aye"
