BEFORE STARTING
1. Parking Brake – SET
2. Safety Belts – FASTENED
3. MASTER switch – OFF
4. Avionics switch – OFF
5. Dimmers - OFF
6. Autopilot – OFF
7. Electric Trim – OFF
8. Alternate Air – CLOSED
9. Anti-Collision Fin Light – ON
10. Prop Control – FULL
11. Fuel tank – Select Desired/Fullest fuel tank
STARTING ENGINE - COLD
1. Throttle – OPEN ½”
2. Master Switch – ON
3. Electric Fuel Pump – ON
4. Mixture – RICH UNTIL FUEL FLOW DISPLAYED
5. Mixture – IDLE/OFF
6. Starter – ENGAGE UNTIL ENGINE FIRES – THEN INCREASE MIXTURE FULL RICH
7. Adjust Throttle – 1000 RPM
8. Reduce Mixture for Taxi Operations
STARTING ENGINE – HOT
1. Throttle – OPEN ½”
2. Master Switch – ON
3. Electric Fuel Pump – ON
4. Mixture – IDLE/OFF
5. Starter – ENGAGE UNTIL ENGINE FIRES – THEN INCREASE MIXTURE FULL RICH
6. Adjust Throttle – 1000 RPM
7. Reduce Mixture for Taxi Operations
STARTING ENGINE – WHEN FLOODED
1. Throttle – FULL
2. Master Switch – ON
3. Electric Fuel Pump – OFF
4. Mixture – IDLE/OFF
5. Starter – ENGAGE UNTIL ENGINE FIRES – THEN INCREASE MIXTURE FULL RICH
6. Reduce Mixture for Taxi Operations
BEFORE TAXI
1. Fuel Pump – OFF
2. Engine Gauges – CHECK for GREEN
3. Avionics Master – ON
4. Transponder – STANDBY - 1200
5. Brakes – CHECK when starting taxi
BEFORE TAKEOFF
1. Brakes – Set
2. Fuel Selector – FULLEST TANK
3. Mixture – FULL/RICH
4. Throttle – 2000 RPM
5. Check L&R Mags – Verify:
• 175 RPM DROP MAX
• 50°F uniform rise in all EGT’s
6. Alternate Air – CHECK (100 RPM DROP MAX)
7. Engine Gauges – OIL TEMP, OIL PRES., FUEL PRES. - NORMAL
8. Vacuum Suction (5.5” ± .1”)
9. Propeller Control – Cycle 3 times (Once per Day)
10. Throttle – 1000 RPM
11. Controls – FREE (FULL AILERON/STABILATOR MOVEMENT)
12. Flaps – CHECK. SET 10° FOR NORMAL TAKEOFF
13. Fuel Pump – ON
14. Alternate Air - CLOSED
15. Propeller - FULL
16. Trim Tabs – SET
17. Directional Guidance – SET
18. COMM/VOR/GPS – SET
19. Transponder – SWITCH TO ALT, VERIFY CORRECT CODE
20. Autopilot – OFF
21. Electric Trim - OFF
22. Landing Light/Nav Lights – ON (if needed)
23. Seats – LOCKED
24. Doors – LATCHED TOP AND BOTTOM
CLIMB
1. Rotate (VR) at 70 MPH, climb at desired speed:
Best Rate (Vy) 105 MPH
Best Angle (Vx) 95 MPH
2. At 1000’ AGL - Reduce Throttle to 25” MP, then RPM – 2500 for enroute climb (115 mph)
3. Fuel Pump, Landing Lights – OFF above 1000’ AGL (Verify Normal Fuel Pressure)
CRUISE
1. See Power Chart For Settings
2. Trim – LEVEL FLIGHT
3. Consult EDM-700 Quick Reference for leaning instructions
BEFORE LANDING
1. Safety Belts – FASTENED
2. Mixture – FULL/RICH
3. Fuel Pump – ON
4. Fuel Selector – FULLEST TANK
5. Flaps – DOWN (125 MPH MAX)
6. Approach Speed – 100 MPH

1. Avionics Master – OFF
