Cessna flap follow cable

I have a 182 L, it is the first year of the preselect flaps, I had the shop replace the old flap follow cable, that controls the indicator and after it was reinstalled, the inside cable broke about 6" from the end on the panel side. I don't know how that system works but I can't imagine any tension, especially on the panel side that would stop it. The cams roll fine and the cable, when unhooked from the flap cam moved freely.

Sounds like a mis-install. Take it to someone that knows what they're doing.
