Hello Everyone,
I had an Incidents not all to long ago and it caused some damage on my 1956 Cessna 172 Taildragger Conversion. I have tried to contact the STC holder and I can get no replies. I talked to my mechanic and he is having the same issues he said he could manufacture new parts as long as he has the original Parts list to build it to spec. So I'm here to ask if anybody knows anything about the Bolen conversion, was it made from 170 doner parts? or all new manufactured? and if anybody has a parts list or know anyone to contact about it.
Thank you all in advance.

Did they not put the parts list on the 337 when it was converted?

I’d recommend first seeing what the status of the STC is since you are not receiving any reply from the STC holder. There’s several ways to do this but I prefer to directly contact the FAA ACO that issued the STC. There is a regulatory requirement for the STC holder to support their STC and if they are not—and still in business—then the ACO can push them to comply. If the holder is not around and/or the STC is no longer supported it can be transferred into the public domain and the FAA ACO can issue all the support documents to you. Fabricating STC repair parts can be tricky at times but I’ve had good luck discussing these type issues with the ACO in the past.

You may also want to contact the salvage yards . ALL of them.

Joe Jensen in Dover Delaware has a LOT of aircraft.

Some I had only heard of.

Not sure if still around though.

It might be worthwhile calling Del-air in Porterville CA.

No email.

They have a t/w STC so it’s possible they ought out Bolens.

In addition they have long range tanks and engine upgrades .

Founder Harry has passed but was extremely helpful.

Google Bolen .
A ton of information out there.

There’s a whole 172 Tailwheel Facebook page too.
