Watching a video on youtube, of an absolutely gorgeous C140A....wonder what is the little black stubby thing in the ceiling, centered just behind or over the seat?
you can see it here clearly at 8:44 in the vid

I have zero memory of anything about such a thing in my minuscule amount of time in the C120 & the C140....

If Stevie is here... i enjoy your videos. Fun for this rusty pilot to tag along on your trips!
 
Video camera, there is another where the magnetic compass would normally be.
 
no, the camera is mounted aft of it...You can see it in other aft facing clips of the video.
So you are saying a mag compass would be ceiling mounted? I surely don't remember that in the ones I flew.... I would have guessed I remember them being in the panel.... but then I was eyes outside focused more on dancing the rudders ;)

I think it's light. That can be aimed
 
My first thought was a 360degree camera pointing down, but I have not seen her videos use a 360 camera. So, it might be a light she can point to where she needs it.
