Got a question for those in the know.

I'm airlineing up to Canada to meet a crew who fly a new type. I'm gonna ride with them awhile as they get the feel of the plane. I know our first trip is going to be from Canada to California. My role, as I understand it, is not as PIC so I figure they will be doing all the customs stuff.

With that said...I have never flown to or from Canada straight part 91. I've always had a dispatch behind me doing the leg work. So my question is...what does dispatch do? :)

Seriously, what should I make sure happens before we depart Canada for the US? It's a Canadian registered plane and I assume I'll be the only US citizen on board. Here's what I know (or think I know) already.

-Call US Customs minimum two hours before arrival.
-Overflight is okay from Canada
-eAPIS needs to be done. I use fltplan.com and they can do it although I have zero experience with it.

Any tips to help me avoid looking retarded would be welcome.

Thanks

Don't know if you need the Apis ,as it's not your airplane ,and you are not PIC. U.S. customs must be notified at port of entry. Make sure the airplane keeps the squawk ,given to them in Canada.

Do foreign private planes even do eAPIS?
