Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of doing the following flight for a bit of a scenic tour of the beach, Santa Monica, the Hollywood Sign, and Griffith Observatory. Equipment is a 172S.
- Depart KCMA left crosswind through Point Mugu (done this before works like a charm to get to the coast)
-Follow the beach down at 1-3K ft past Point Dume and towards pacific pallisades
-Cross over Santa Monica Class D at 3500' and head North past Getty Center and up towards Hollywood Sign, staying below the 5000' Bravo shelf and left of the 2500' shelf.
-Get a class C transition through Burbank's airspace to the West and head back to Camarillo.
Anyone done something like this before? I'm planning on getting flight following but not sure the best way to state my intentions. Also seems like 3500' is a much safer altitude for ASEL than skirting under Burbank.
Thanks everyone!
Elliott
