Hey look, we're almost down to 3000' Density Altitude at KAPA! ;)

And we'll easily get there tonight... the low for tomorrow is predicted at -19F. DA will be below 2000'.

We still won't quite make it to sea level, though. :cornut:

My buddy claims the heater in his Mooney cranks out like nuclear levels of heat, so I suggested we could go flying together tomorrow.

He didn't go for it.

The cherokee's in the hangar with the engine heater and covers on. When flying, the inside heater and defroster work just fine.

Where shall we go?

Yeah, next week it will be 55 F and not a cloud in the sky and the intensity of the sun makes it feel like 65 F.

I know your game.

No no! It's like this all winter in Colorado! Stay away!
Especially you Califorans. :D

It's less than -2000 feet here, and it's not even that cold! (22ºF) :D

As of 7 am today, DA at KDIA is 1465. At KAPA, 1845. Temp -24C -12 F, wind chill -29F

It's warmer on the top of Copper Mtn (ski area) than down here in town.

Remind me again why I sold Dad's house in Phoenix....?

The sky is falling!!

I just called the AWOS at Denver (303-342-0838) and the density altitude is 1,500'!

P.S.--That "Call phone" feature in Google Talk embedded in Gmail is neat for things like this.

I don't remember it getting quite that cold when I leved there. Wow.

Regardless of the current temps (-5ºF), the sun is shining brightly, no wind (at the moment) and the sun coming thru the glass doors is nice and toasty. However, my garage that currently contains my daughter's misbehaving Jeep is damn cold.
The choices:
a. work on it in the cold
b. fire up the propane heaters and work on it while all the snow and ice drips on my head
c. ignore it for a couple of days and the weather warms up

I vote c.

I saw some cherry blossoms today in Golden Gate Park... :D
