Boutique Air loses door on takeoff

They also have King Airs according to their website. The article says 8 seats though, so PC12 is likely.
 
Odd. This exits are usually plug exits, which would make that difficult.
That said, I have zero knowledge on the PC-12.
 
I’m going to guess this was not a mechanical failure, someone forgot to latch the door. Not the first time this has happened.
 
Looking at the pictures in the video, on the one shot on the upper right you can see one the door restraints sticking straight up which leads me to believe that the door opened, but didn’t “fly off”, as the article claims.

What I'm hearing now is the door did not come detached. The door opened on takeoff and the interior panel ripped off.

Also both pilots are fired, and Boutique is pulling out of Ironwood after this, the wheel falling off, and other issues with their service.
 
You can MEL the cargo door indication system, you just need to verify it is close and latched visually. Easy enough to do, there are visual indicators for each door latch on the outside. You just have to make sure you actually do it.....
