Hasn't been around in a long while, anyone heard from him?

Maybe his mechanic has paid up the kids college tuition for now. ;)
Yes, I have. He was pretty "burnt" by the responses to his saga of trying to run an IT company (>200 employees) and has bugged out.

He's doing well.

Sad but it is true that until you have sat in the CEO seat (and I don't mean with five employees) it's hard to understand what's required.

I recall that thread, and he was blunt, straightforward and entirely up-front. There was nothing out of line in what he had to say (any offended could vote with feet by not hiring on with him). Shame he was hosed on.

The responses were blunt, straightforward and entire up-front, too. The whole thread got way too emotional but opinions are like that.

I for one, miss his posts and wish he'd drop by here.

I agree, he was good to have here. Oh well.

Bill, funny you should post this here. I was just wondering who was still posting on POA and was thinking where Bob was. Its too bad he left.

His last post or activity was during the thread that got so heated.

Bob, if you are still out there, I know I for one did not mean to offend you during that long and heated debate. We all have different perspectives on the world, and that is one of the great things about being human.

I miss having a cessna twin driver posting. I don't know that we have anyone else here with that perspective.

I for one would like to see you back Bob. If I offended you before, I apologize for that.

Yeah, me too. He always made me feel that owning and operating a Tiger was really inexpensive. And it it, compared to a 310!

I had assumed he was on a vacation he had mentioned once, although come to think of it, he did get flamed pretty hard on that employment thread. He needed the double-layer asbestos suit for that one!

He's local here at LZU. I'll see if I can lure him out with a beer and a burger at the restaurant on the field :drink:

Good idea! Hey, tell him we miss him. Like I told him in the email (some time back) he was and if he wishes, will remain a valued member here (that is my perspective anyway, and I am CERTAIN it is shared by many). Thanks for taking the initiative.

He's been gone for some time now. He had very good and informational posts. I think I always learned something from his posts.

Well Bruce, I have 6 and know exactly what he was talking about. It does not take 200 employee's. I hope Bob stops back by. His stories were always an interesting read and educational.

I liked reading Bob's posts. Its a shame that he felt he had to leave, but the plain and simple fact is that if you insinuate that American employees are on the whole worthless, American employees are gonna react.

I hope eventually Bob comes back. He had a lot of good info.

That thread was a nightmare, all around. But we had 5 pages of it, and it's over. If we keep bringing it up, I doubt he will come back. The simple fact is he's a good guy, posts good posts, shared a wealth of flying posts and had it not been for that one thread, I think he could easily have been voted one of the most poular folks here. I think perhaps we might all want to let that one go? Seems time to me.

Seems a shame that here on a flying forum, a huge group of pilots can get together and talk about flying. Or anything else. And NOT maintain civility towards differing opinions. But some things are going to be devisive. It is a certainty that we will have people on both sides of controversial issues. If we allow for others opinions, and "agree to disagree" where we can't convince one another, we can maintain a large, open and enjoyable forum. If we cannot, we are simply doomed to lose more valuable members on each occurrance. That would be both short sighted and small minded of us.

I think most of us pretty much HAD let that one go. Personally, once everything was said and done, I was done with it. I didn't let it affect my opinion of anyone who disagreed with me. If everyone agreed with me, the world would be a perfect place and hardly any fun at all. :D

I just found this thread, and I am overwhelmed.

To everyone one who said nice things above (and / or sent me private emails), I really appreciate it. Thank you.

I felt like I needed to cool my heels a bit, and if you read my 310 update, you also know that I was dealing with an envelope-expansion of piloting skills and confidence level.

So, my heels are cool, and my skills are sharp. It's time to make some stuff happen. :)

..and many of us live our cool flying dreams through you, Bob.

Some day, you be here in Dallas, I be trading steak dinner for right seat time.

And Bob, when you make it to Minnesota we can fly each other's twin and compare thoughts.
