Blocking (ignoring) people

We've had numerous discussions here over the years (some in private) about putting people on ignore, how many, who, etc.

Well, I'm tired of my bullsh*t, don't want to read it any more, and just tried to put myself on ignore. When I did, I got the message "you can't ignore yourself."

Huh? Why not?
 
My understanding is that the voices inside your head are OK if they don't start telling you to do things.

Agreed. Those voices keep telling me I should lose some weight or save more money for retirement. Screw that noise!

It's like dividing by zero. It just isn't done.
 
If you could ignore yourself, I don’t think it would provide any relief from shame, because you would still see everyone’s replies to you, telling you how dumb your post was.
 
I can't block myself, but since I have multiple personalities, I can always block the other "me".

I forget who I've even got on ignore any more. Probably for the best. And I don't pay much attention to the ones I don't have on ignore.

*edit* huh...only four people. I would've thought there'd be several dozen.
 
Why am I even typing this, no one will be able to see it.

If a pilots post on a forum and everyone has blocked him, does it even get posted?
 
LOL has anyone tried logging into a banned account? It's like hotel california. You can checkout any time, but you can never leave. The log out button is disabled ;-)
