Birthday present ideas for my husband?

Doesn't Tom read PoA? If so, anything we suggest is gonna be known right away.
He doesn't get on here.

That said, I suggest a long trip, to share experiences together. Good luck Diana.
Thanks Nick. I guess the trip I planned in May flying all over the country might take care of that. Low and slow across the country landing on grass and dirt strips. No hurry to get anywhere. Meeting new and interesting people who also frequent grass strips. That's my plan anyway. :)

Thanks everybody for your great suggestions....I appreciate it.

Spike, I remember when you talked about your trip down there. How far is that from Dave Taylor's?

31.4 NM from TS15 (the Cibolo Creek Ranch airstrip) to KMRF (Dave's home 'drome). That's where you'd want to buy fuel anyway, as TS15 has no fuel for sale (although the Airnav page continues to mis-state the runway info; 9/27 is 4,400' paved and marked with PCL; there is no second runway).

Cibolo Creek Ranch is so nice, I feel guilty just thinking about it. But not so guilty I won't go back!

What to buy for the guy who has everything? A belly button lint cleaner... No one else thinks of it, you can make it, and its a good "extra" to go with anything you already have for a good laugh and a "what the heck?" look.

Some of us like to keep the belly button lint in place for extra warmth this time of year :D

Load him up and take him to Key West for a few days. Just the
two of you.

I'll second Key West, probably my favorite place this time of year. Bahamas are just a jump off So Fla as well, Check out Staniel Cay, or if you want to do something really cool and different, there's several dive resorts off Belize in warm water as well. You can check out scuba on some nice reefs.

When were you there last? KW is turning into a chain restaurant/bar haven with save activities. Not so unique as it was just 5 years ago.

It's been a few... Well, there's some nice small resorts up the chain as well on Big Pine, Summerland and Cudjoe. More I think about it though, a dive trip to Ambergris Cay or Roatan might be better this time of year. Water is a bit cool in the Keys this time of year (though still warmer than CA at the peak of summer).

If you can get him out to Boise Id. I could pick you up and you would be welcome at the Bement house. It isn't fancy but comfortable. Then we could do a little flying into the backcountry of Idaho. Have breakfast at Big Creek lodge and see some wild country. Fly down the River of no return The Salmon River. It would have to be in the summer months. But it would be great fun. Bob

Lots of nice restaurants around there... maybe something different like The Melting Pot.

I just looked at their menu! I have to go there! How neat. Years ago, I used to have fondue dinner parties. Then I got lazy. :)

Oh, you've just given me an idea for Valentine's Day! Off to find those fondue pots.

I'm a serious "meat and potatos" kind of guy, but once a year or so I take my wife to the Melting Pot. We both have fun and really enjoy the evening. It's a novelty...

Hey, it's meat without the potatoes! And bread, and CHEESE, and fruit and chocolate.

Yummmmmmmmmm.

Kent, if you think you'll like the Melting Pot, try Geja's Cafe next time you're in Chicago. Bring a date. Won an award as the city's most romantic restaurant. Great wine list; the owner also has a wine club. Leslie and I do a fondue restaurant a couple of times a year. Fun!

How about a drive to KC for a night at the Raphael or a room at the Intercontinental on the Plaza? Lots of nice restaurants around there... maybe something different like The Melting Pot.

Spend a little, spend a lot. I take my family up there every Christmas and we have a great time just walking around and window shopping.

This is what we plan to do in a few days. We're staying near the Plaza and we're eating at the Melting Pot. Thanks for the idea!

Remember that movie .. "Texas Chain Saw Massacre". That was
Eamon's adventure into movie stardom.

Ask Eamon about the now infamous Jerk Chicken incident at Belle's at KFOK.

-Skip

ps: As far as I know, the above-mentioned incident had no impact at all on Belle's. Its subsequent closing is a clear case of correlation without causation. That's Eamon's (and my) story and we will stick with it! :goofy:

He doesn’t really need more stuff or want more stuff. Well, except a Garmin 496, and that’s not in our price range yet.

Well then Diana, my suggestion wont work either.
What ever Man wants and needs is 50 pound of $50 dollar bills.

But tell him i said Happy Birthday .

OMG!!! It was sooooooo good! We loved The Melting Pot! We had a cozy little booth (with a curtain) and the fantastic food just kept on happening. I want to go there for Valentine's Day. Thanks for the suggestion!

Some men like legs, some like breasts, some like shrink wraping, PVC, Vinyl, ect.....

What's wrong with a jerk seasoning fetish?
