Personally, I like the off-white or cream base colors. I don't think they fade as easily and I don't think they show the dirt as much as pure white.

Living in FL and the Bahamas I favor white for keeping cool. When I lived in NY I liked a beige base color as it apsorbs enough UV through snow and ice to melt it even when the ambient was below freezing. White makes you wait until the ambient temperature is high enough to melt the ice.
