Hello everyone,

I have a question. I know there are many aviation podcasts out there, but of the very few I have listened to, I feel they are more conversational in nature.

Can anyone list free audio files for download that would play on a cell phone (mp3 file type)?

Files that are at least 30 minutes in length and "teach" something about flying?

Or am I asking too much?

I spend time at home, in the car, and at the gym - time that could be filled with audio. Right now, obviously, I'm preparing for my checkride; but any aviation-related stuff would be helpful.

I've already passed the written, so no written test prep stuff.

I am not as techie as I used to be - is there a way to "capture" the audio from, say, a YouTube video and then convert it to an mp3 and upload it to my mobile device?

Unfortunately, I have a Blackberry so that right there limits things.

Your help is appreciated as I try to dive into this new found hobby.

Well, they're video, too, but some of the University of North Dakota podcasts on Itunes are interesting.

I cant get you the link right now because my work employs an army of internet gestapo and everything cool is blocked but CFIcast is FANTASTIC. Really interesting topics and nice change of perspective moving from the right to left seat. (You fixed wingers sit backwards.) Personally, I've saved the 15 or so that I've found and plan on reviewing them from time to time as I work my way towards CFI.

If you search for PilotCast and get onto their page there should be some links to the CFICast from there.

If you cant find it let me know and I will post a link once I get home.

Thanks I actually was looking for more . . . I have listened to the CFIcast and the Pilot's Journey on my BlackBerry.

The poster above recommended an educational thing so I'll try that too.

For youtube to mp3 I use video2mp3.net

Found one of their videos on you tube last night. Thanks for recommending the UND stuff. Didn't know about them.
