So I have been thinking of getting my CFI and wondering the process, I think the regulations have changed in 2015 about complex vs non complex? I am not looking to fly for any majors or reginal, just wanting to teach. I don't have an updated AIM/FAA book.

You can get the FARs free for nothing on faa.gov. Part 61 Subpart H covers the regulations to get your CFI. If you're qualified, go for it.

Don't need the book; everything is online and up to date. Get used to visiting this site; as an instructor you'll be expected to read and understand part 61.

Hardest ticket to get, you'll need to be the kind of guy who can self teach yourself through it and know where to find answers.

I think part of what you're looking for is the complex information in the PTS...Pages 10-11 discuss aircraft requirements for the check ride.

Take a look at the PTS and the FAA publications. I didn't study much else besides these documents. Good luck!

Dive deep into the ACS. It's shiny and new!
