Pre-takeoff checklist
Beech Baron picked up Severe Icing and went down around KLBL. Two on board, R.I.P. N4817M departed KMTJ heading to Branson, MO.
I'm at work right now. ATCjust curious how you know about the icing, is their audio?
What u using for that overlay?
It'll be soon. The plane was found 3 miles from KLBL. I don't think they'll be releasing audio anytime soon, unless someone else recorded it.Flight Aware shows an arrival. Nothing in the news...
There were many warning out all day for Colorado and Kansas. The Controller working the Baron warned him about all the icing in the area too. The system is still moving through MO and IL right now. Nearly had a repeat today. 172 caught in the ice from KMKC to KCGI. We got that one down safely though. Just don't know why people risk it with all the PIREPS, AIRMETS and SIGMETS. Be safe out there in this winter weather. No AIRMETs or forecasted icing?
Sad.
I don’t know either. Thank you for your commitment to keeping us safe while we fly—and all of those working in ATC.There were many warning out all day for Colorado and Kansas. That’s it. Very little news out on this. Makes me wonder why. Everyone can learn something about these accidents, so I hope more information gets released soon.
Is this the one? Don’t see much in the news about it.
