This is my third thread about aviation writers and found it interesting. For now, I am focusing on Flying writers but might move elsewhere.

My all time favourite back in the day was Len Morgan. After all, most of us wanted to know what it was like flying a 747. Plus he had great stories from the earlier era of piston airliners.

How did you like Len Morgan?
 
I'll never forget his article describing his apprehensions on the new first Braniff 747 flight takeoff from DFW to HON with full revenue load. The combined flight crew 747 experience was well under 10 hrs TT. Still brings tears to my eyes.....
 
I think that was “fat Albert” who amassed more hours at the time than any other 747. It spent ? 70%(just guessing) of its life in the air. The Honolulu tower thought all Braniff’s 747’s were painted pumpkin, he did not realize they only had one that flew round trip each day.
