I had a dream lastnight that a USAF Colonel let me take a Raptor for a spin. A General was upset about that and wanted me to come back. So I was going to cut my flight short but I had a tough time figuring out the navigation system to get back to the AFB. I was going to whip out my iPhone to use Foreflight until I remembered that my subscription had just expired (true part). I didn't have a paper chart on board either.

What does this mean?

Ha! It means you have the same kind of dreams the rest of us have. Did you have any clothes on (in the dream)?

I had on a flight suit and a G harness. Unit Patches on the shoulder. Not sure if I had a mask but I think a helmet.

Did you watch Iron Eagle recently?

:)

No. I went to a military airshow this past weekend. The Raptor was louder than the 6 Thunderbirds.

Dead Reckoning

I was going to try that. I felt anxiety over being "lost" and everything, as if this was real. I did a zoom climb then thought about the fuel it took to do that and leveled off. I couldn't find the round dial fuel gauge either. I wasn't even going to try VOR, but somehow TACAN was a consideration (go figure).

Then I woke up as I was looking at the ground to try to navigate, not having a clue where in South Carolina I was. I was flying from Shaw AFB, which is near where my grandparents are from.

OMG- does this mean I am a child of the Magenta Line dependent upon modern moving maps?

And why are more details of this dream coming out as this thread evolves? Seriously, I'm not making this "ish" up. Maybe I have some serious psych issues and need to see a shrinker.

Does the fact that I'd recently deposited the check from selling the plane have anything to do with this? OMG, I think I'm having a neurosis...

It means Foreflight has a good marketing team. :)
