At least 2 dead, Explosions Rock Downtown London

CNN now reports at least 10 dead at Kings Cross Train Station, 190 injured.

Al Qaeda, or some clone. Very sad. When I think of the all the times I rode the London tube. Went to school there in 1983

Possibly Al Q... possibly not.

There are a LOT of groups that have rioted against the G-8 meetings over the years. These groups tore up Seattle and Geneva. I am not surprised to see them strike back against the UK at the time of the G8.

It does have some hallmarks of Al Queda...

Plus London was just awarded the Olympics for 2012 (beating out Paris), could have been part of the timing decision.

Unfortunately, this sort of attack isn't that unusual for London, we endured a decade or three of it from the IRA.

Also, some trial of a prominent Muslim started Tuesday in London ...

The European branch of Al Queda is taking credit for the bombings. Now they're franchising terror. Sigh.

Homeland Security has raised the alert level to ORANGE for Mass Transit but NOT for airlines.

Next there will be subway TFRs. After they ground GA because obviously we had something to do with this. Sigh...

We don't have any mass transit in Detroit....except for the Smart Busses...and I'm not sure that anyone would notice if those were shutdown anyway.

Oh, there is the People Mover...:D

It's all part of the same organization.

I'm only slightly skeptical only because Al Queda is not known for making a lot of public announcements. This may well be them, though...

Doesn't matter, this was a horrific crime.

Let's not let the terrorists win.

Do you think Europe ( with the exception of England and Denmark) will wake up and help us "Franchise Revenge" No is my guess. Some how BBC will turn this around and blame Blair on or the US.. Sigh

I doubt that.

The only thing you might hear brought up again is the mess last year when someone in the administration leaked Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan arrest to the media and blew apart what had been a very successful Al Qaeda double agent and covert operation. Not surprising it got little play in this country but it was big news in the UK. .

But, ultimately the Brits know better then most that you just can't stop every attack. In the grand scale of things this could have been much worse. Remember, they stopped a chemical attack last year! Rison, wasn't it?
