Filing Flight Plan
Looking for some advice, ideas, or opinions on a minor upgrade to my recently acquired Piper Archer II panel. I have this area to the right of the radios that has a two piece panel covering a tray that holds my adsb receiver and an avionics cooling fan (the three horizontal screws) a few inches below the adsb cut out. The top panel is loosely held in place with two sided tape and my original intent was to simply replace this panel with a nice one piece powder coated panel. A good friend has a plasma cutter and has volunteered to cut a new "cover" for that area.
But, after some serious thought I am wondering if I need to do more and actually make things more functional.

- Would it be beneficial to move the adsb receiver to a different location? I can't help but wonder about the reception with it buried in the panel behind metal plates....
- Do I really need an avionics cooling fan?
- If not, why can't I use this space as a storage/glove box type area?
