AOPA Valuation

The use a freebie version of Vref. I usually find Vref to be a bit high. The evaluator on on Trade-a-Plane is much better.

I've found the Vref system on AOPA's site to be a good estimate of what it would cost to replace your plane with an identical one -- thus, a pretty good estimator for what hull value to get on your insurance. However, it significantly overestimates the amount you'd get if you sold your plane -- for that, TaP's is much better.

I would have to agree with Ron, use it for purchasing insurance and thats about it. I have found that it runs about 20% above what the market is doing. And if fuel prices and the economy keep getting out of hand, it may get closer to 30%.
