Anyone have a Rivian truck or SUV on order? I have a R1S on order and expect delivery June of this year unless they announce another delay...

I'm getting the launch edition in launch green, with forest edge green interior, and 21 inch wheels. Launch green is really a sage like color. I had initially planned on forest green exterior with edge green interior but I think the forest green might be a little bit too bold for me and it might get tired of it.

Both greens have good and bad looks in different lighting. I've only seen the launch green in person I still have yet to see forest green. Luckily, I still have time to make changes and not delay my order.

There is a Rivian hub not too far from me in Venice, California, where I'm told I can see all the colors. However, I just haven't found the time to go across town and find parking...

Sounds like a great reason to fly that new plane of yours to SMO and rent a car for the short drive to Venice.

Tell us more about this green color…..

I would consider the rivian pickup but I ain’t spending no 70+ grand on ANY vehicle.

But, think of all the money you'll save going electric.

Had a $1,000 deposit down on an R1T. In green.

Around $80K. With the recent clumsily handled price increase we canceled.

Rivian relented and offered to lock in our previous price if we reinstated, but we figured our Tesla combined with a beater pickup - currently our 2006 Ridgeline - made more sense. Plus, in the 2+ years it will likely take to get the Rivian, the EV truck landscape is likely to be very different.

is the price sticker you're showing the increased price? because if not, $93k isn't "around 80k".

I am tempted, but we only have street parking, and that does not make an EV very manageable.

Here is the Launch Green they brought to the house for a test drive... They are only showing the truck, I ordered the SUV.

That's why I really need to go see the Forest Green and Launch Green at the hub. Here are the two greens, Launch (like a Sage) and Forest (darker):

The price is $77,950. When rivian notified as of the price increase my price increased over $14,000 to more than $92,000. Or, you had the option to downgrade the motors to dual versus quad. And if you did they would honor the original price but you were pushed out two more years. Honestly, in my opinion, it was a bait and switch for many of us following rivian for years and putting a down payment on their technology only to have them change it later.

So now, I'm likely to buy this car because they're honoring the original price and since prices continue to go up seems to me it might be a pretty good value!

I really like the dark green.

Edit to add: I just realized, it's probably because my dad drove a '77 Chevy K20 that was about that color. He passed it down to me in the early 00's and I drove it until it got so rusty pieces were falling off. I miss that truck. I need another square body Chevy in my life.

F-150’s are like the Harley 883 Sportsters….I know a lot of girls who drive them.

Saw a Rivian in the wild for the first time today. It was an R1T. Sorry, it was gray. I live about 40 minutes from the factory so I knew it was just a matter of time.

The one I saw was that "launch green". Didn't know it was special at the time.

I guess I'm stepping in it here, but this truck reminds me of the granny commercial from the 80's that said, "Don't you buy no ugly truck!"

Sadly, except the F150, all the current/rumored electric pickups are ugly. The new Chevy looks like an Avalanche. The Cybertruck looks like, well, whatever.

Since no one else has said it....

That thing is as ugly as a bag of smashed arseholes. ;)

I didn't think it looked ugly.

Just stupid.

The Cybertruck is ugly. The Pontiac Aztek is ugly. But I repeat myself.

I'm curious what the range would be while towing, if it could actually make a 400mi trip without recharging with a 5-7k trailer I might actually be able to use it. Then again the price delta between that and a new F-150 still buys a lot of gas....

Also, someone needs to explain to me what vegan leather is because that sounds like Vinyl to me.

I would have guessed leather from grass fed cows. There's a market for grass fed beef, so figured the leather might command a premium price, too.
