A friend of mine gave me this. It belonged to her dad who passed way years ago and was a pilot.

Has anyone see anything like this? Someone said it may have been placed next to the flight engineers attitude indicator to show the correct flight pitch attitude.

Anyone have any idea how it’s used and how old it may be?

Pre zip code for sure. Houston International was before it was Hobby Airport, so that should help date it a bit.

According to the patent office, that patent would have been issued in 1960, but I can't find it in their database. Hobby wasn't named Hobby until 1967. So it was probably manufactured in early '60s.

ZIP didn't start until 1963, though the old postal district/city zones tended to persist into the seventies at times (int case you're wondering, that puts the earliest date at 1943, implemented because skilled postal workers were going into the military for the war).
